Kathy and Joseph had little idea what would come from storing that copper flashing in their garage loft, and they certainly didn’t foresee the profound redemptive beauty of what was to unfold.

Kathy only uses reclaimed copper to handcraft her jewelry—each piece with its own unique story and history.

She collects all kinds of roofing copper, ethically sourced from small-town banks, old barns, and vintage homes. Some of the copper she works with was in use for over ninety years! It makes you wonder how many rain drops, snow flakes, sun beams, and little bird feet have alighted on its surfaces. Or how many first steps were taken, dreams dreamt, deals made, tears cried, anniversaries celebrated—entire lives lived—beneath the burnished surfaces.
